climb ev'ry mountain
Actually got up in time for breakfast, and chatted with Craig over a cinnamon raisin bagel. Did four loads of laundry and had my room inspected by the fire safety guys before heading out for my 11 am art history course.
The class, "The Art of the Print", looks like it will be plenty of fun. The professor looks somewhat like Michael J. Fox, which is a bit distracting (but in a good way, I guess). One of the highlights of the class is that we will be given a certain amount of money to purchase prints for the Princeton Art Museum collection, and so by the end of the term, we as a class will have to browse through dealers' collections, and then decide together on what to buy.
It reminds me of that old board game, "Masterpiece", that we used to play at home, even though I know we won't be spending nearly that much on our prints.
Scurried back to the GC and had a cup-of-soup for lunch while tidying up my room, then met with Angela, the Director of Graduate Studies, to discuss progress-toward-degree checklist stuff--nothing major. At 3:30 there was the History of Science Program Seminar planning meeting; after that I stopped by Cafe Vivian to check out a Princeton historical book exhibit that someone is proposing to install at the GC too, and also deposited a few checks at the bank before going back to the Grad College.
At 5 pm I went to a grad student conference-planning meeting where we read through submitted abstracts on Renaissance topics until 7 pm (bolstered by very good mushroom pizza from Old World Pizza). At 7 pm the group was actually still at it, but I left for House Committee meeting. When I got back from Committee meeting I found an e-mail in my inbox telling me I had been nominated for Graduate Student Government Social Chair.
I declined it already.
